How To Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Using “Corona 5.0.1 Untether” Cydia Tweak (VIDEO)

As , the much-waited untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 has been released based on pod2g’s discovered exploit. Since the links for Redsn0w and GreenPois0nJailbreak toolsare not ready yet, there’s an alternate method to do the untethered jailbreak. You can currently use a new jailbreak tool available in Cydia named “Corona” to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 untethered. Below we’ll show you how.

P0sixninja, the brain member of the Chronic,devteam developed a Cydia tweak called “Corona” and uploaded it Cydia for users who already have a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1.
You’ll need to do a tethered jailbreak first using previous redsn0w version. You can follow our guide posted to do a tethered jailbreak on your A4 device running iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.

How To Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Untethered

STEP 1: Assuming your device is already jailbroken, head to Cydia and leave it till the update is finished.
STEP 2: Once updated, search for “Corona 5.0.1 Untether” under BigBoss repository and you’ll be able to download it for free by hitting the “Install” button on the top right of screen.

 Once done, you’ll need to reboot your device and get your untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1.

• Notes:

• If you have one of those devices and are not on 5.0.1 yet, update now!  The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1  If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW!    Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.
• If you’re already at 5.0.1 with a tethered jailbreak, you have two choices: either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak (deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that), or install the Cydia package prepared by the chronic devteam.  The patches are the same regardless of which you choose.
• Some of you are using a hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration.  If so, do not attempt to install this untether over that setup!  You will most likely get into a reboot cycle.  Do a sync and fresh restore to 5.0.1 then install the jailbreak + untether.

  Steps

  STEP 1: Backup your phone iPad or iPod touch and restore it using the iOS 5.0.1 ipsw downloaded above.
  STEP 2: Open Redsn0w you already downloaded, select “Extras” then “Select IPSW” and browse for the iOS 5.0.1 IPSW file.

Apple Releases iOS 5.0.1 To The Public, Jailbreakers Stay Away!

Apple today released the final version of iOS 5.0.1 for public for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The iOS 5.0.1 software update fixes battery issues on iPhone 4S and bring back multitasking gesture to the original iPad.

Once you jailbreak your device, open Cydia and search for iWipe Cache under ModMyi repository. This tweak will install an icon on your homescreen as shown in the screenshot above. By tapping on this icon, your device will respring and white icons problem will be fixed.

Cydia store is a very special place to find good jailbreak tweaks, so that today I while I was checking latest jailbreak tweaks I found this great tweak which called NCColors and it is really very useful for too many iPhone users as it allows you to customize your iPhone notification center by using simple RGB sliders:

 Just after you install NCColors on your iPhone you will be able to change and customize your iPhone's notification center's color, you have the ability to use Blur to make your notification center a kind of transparent.. So that I told myself to give it a try and played in the RGB sliders as shown above and here's the results :)

  Well maybe I didn't thought that my notification center will be like this ! Anyway NCColors considered as one of the best jailbreak tweaks available when it comes to changing Notification Center’s background color.

The only thing that doesn’t work well is the disable switch. Disabling didn’t actually disable the tweak, even after a respring. I presume this will be fixed in a future update. So if you are interested in this tweak you can get it for free from Cydia store enjoy all and happy downloading :)
